... the convoluted relationship between women, their bodies, and their sexuality. Whether people know much about Emin’s limited edition prints, or original work, her installations, painting, printmaking, embroidery, her work with neon tubing, her writing, her associations namely the YBAs, particularly Mat Collishaw with whom she had a 6 year relationship, and Sarah Lucas, with whom she shares a beach hut, or not, they will almost certainly hold a strong opinion of her.
Emin is an artist whose name has escaped the narrow confines of the art world. Her name is known in every house, is commented on by people with no interest in the vainglorious machinations of contemporary Art, and bandied about as an example of MODERN ART GONE MAD!. But that is of no matter really, and is certainly of no concern to Emin. It ensures in fact that Tracey Emin Limited Edition prints and Tracey Emin Original work has an assured place in Art History, and as the artist approaches 50, this enfant terrible is well on her way to becoming an eminence grise. She is taught on the national curriculum, was made a Royal Academician in 2007, represented Britain at the Venice Biennale, has collected numerous honorary degrees and accreditations, and was recently given a 20 year retrospective show at the National Gallery of Scotland.
