... These Sarah Graham prints perfectly reproduce the bright, exciting vibrant colours of the artist’s original paintings and she truly is an amazing painter. Her colour palette is vast, and teeming with bold, clear colour, which shows very well in a limited edition print. There isn’t a muddy mid-tone in sight. She likes to focus in on one area of the painting, as in a photograph, and to paint the rest of the canvas as out of focus.
This technique could not have developed without the invention of the modern camera for although the images look familiar to us, and we are used to seeing things depicted in that way, our eyes don’t see like that. Our brains fill in details so that we see everything in relative clarity. This adds to the feeling of hyper-reality contained within Sarah Graham prints. And contributes to their popularity. The prints are highly sought after, and are snapped up quickly when they appear on the market.
More recently, Sarah Graham’s publishers have produced limited edition prints of some of the artist’s smaller canvases and sketch work. These more intimate images are printed on high quality paper, mounted, and beautifully framed. These have also been very well received. They are sometimes added to collections to complement the larger pieces but are also strong enough to stand alone on a wall.
Speaking exclusively to MyArtBroker, Sarah said “Having my work available as prints has had a huge impact on my practise. Not only am I now able to reach a far wider audience, and more people are able to purchase and enjoy my work, but it has driven me to produce more and more challenging pieces.”
