Fabian Perez grew up surrounded by these women. His father was an illegal nightclub and brothel owner, always being pursued by the police, and with a finger in every pie. He is the cool character in many of the limited edition prints, the guy in the shadowy doorway smoking a cigar and watching the action. The guy every guy wants to be really. And the women in the limited edition prints are the ladies of the night who worked with Fabien Perez’ father. Perez grew up loving these women.

He paints them now with love and respect, in the limited edition prints they are the focus, the beauty and the colour. It is a world we can only glimpse through the work. A world of whispered conversations in shadowy corridors, of after hours drinking and dancing in packed illegal dens, of sex and passion and power and love.
